We Made It Half Way!

We've made it half way! Before we left we said we would take a picture of every state line sign with the ambition of making this crazy U.S. map collage when we get home. So at every state line, we pulled over and took a picture with the sign. Seems simple enough, right? Sometimes, not so much. We trudged through knee high grass, rain, and darkness with the threat of animal attack (I am very afraid of snakes). We actually missed California and Washington. In California, we took a

14+1 Behind-the-Scenes Videos

I was going through all of my flip videos and realized I'd been remiss in posting them. I pulled the most comedic, most interesting, and most insightful videos to really give you an honest look at the experiences we've had along the way. Most of the videos are between 1-2 minutes with the occasional more in depth clip. Here are the descriptions with links to each video in no particular order:

Zoology of Filmmaking

When we learned we could film at the zoo, there was no question about it. When else would we be able to film something with flamingos in the background? Of course we had to do thorough location scouting before hand. Some might think this was a sneaky way to spend an entire day at the zoo taking pictures of animals, but they would be mistaken. This was serious work!

San Francisco's Fortnight Film

Presenting "Thought Shifting", the San Francisco Fortnight Film. This gripping psychological thriller was premiered with a title screen that read "Title" as a commentary on... ok I got nothing. We didn't have a title when we screened it... or credits. We did however have homemade carrot cake courtesy of our star actress Julie Booth which made it pretty much the best premiere ever. Watch here.

Baseball and Video Games

As a big baseball fan, Josh wanted to see as many baseball parks as possible as we travel around the country. Needless to say, he was quite miffed that we made it all the way to Seattle without going to a game (unless you count Vampire Baseball in Portland). He put his foot down and demanded we see Seattle play Baltimore at Safeco Field. For the record it is pronounce Safe-co not Sa-fay-co... I made this mistake repeatedly until Adam so nicely pointed out that I was dumb. He's a gem.

Latest T3 Postcard to Second Cinema

Once a month we send a video postcard to Second Cinema that they air on their show in North Carolina featuring independent films and videos in the region. This is a great show and you can find it on Time Warner throughout NC or you can read their blog at www.secondcinema.com

Movie Making San Francisco Style

Filming in San Francisco often felt like a race around the city. We were rarely in one place for more than an hour. We carried minimal equipment with us hoping not to draw too much attention to ourselves. We only had 2 days to film and rewrites to the script were constantly being made up to the very last shot.

PotterCast Live

PotterCast is currently touring the country and doing live shows. It just so happened they were coming to Seattle while we were there. As avid Harry Potter fans (who isn't really?), we absorb all things related to the wizard phenomenom. With long road trips every two weeks, podcasts save us from insanity by boredom. Pottercast is always at the top of our playlists. So of course, we were pumped when we discovered this coincidence.

Sunsets and Stress Relief

As you can imagine, T3 can be somewhat taxing at times for the two of us. One of our favorite things to do when we need to take a break from everything is go somewhere secluded and "be one with nature". When we were in San Francisco, we decided on a whim to take a drive up to Point Reyes Lighthouse. Here's kind of a photo essay of our little excursion:

14 Things I Learned in San Francisco

I had never been to San Francisco before T3. I went in feeling pretty confident I knew what to expect, based on previous knowledge from pictures, movies and 30,000 episodes of Full House. Apparently I still had a few things to learn that SF felt the need to school me on:
